Castleneuk Guest House offers comfortable accommodation with en-suite facilities and personal service. You can be assured of a warm and friendly welcome from Jan.

Castleneuk is located 12 miles north west of Durham City on the A68 main trunk road in the small village of Castleside, near Consett. We are ideally situated either for a comfortable overnight break while travelling between Edinburgh and York or as a base from which to visit many of the local attractions and places of interest in Co Durham and Northumberland.

Jan's extensive knowledge of the area and local history can help in planning a memorable visit.

Directions
When travelling north on the A1 and A1M:
Turn onto the A68, 9 miles north of Scotch Corner at junction 58.
Keep on the A68 for 22 miles, passing through West Aukland and Tow Law.
Drive down the hill into Castleside, over the crossroads and we are 50yds on the left.
(journey about 45 mins)

When on the scenic route from Edinburgh:
Pick up the A68 on the south side of the bypass and head for Dalkieth.
After Jedburgh you will arrive at Carter Bar, the Scottish/English border.
Pull in for some fantastic views if the weather permits and buy an ice cream.
Keep on the A68 until near Corbridge.
Turn left onto the A69 for 3 miles, then south back on the A68 for 10 miles.
