Ha'penny House is a delightful character home offering guest accommodation in a relaxed atmosphere. It is set in a pleasant, quiet, residential area of Milford on Sea.

Milford on Sea is a pleasant coastal village on the outskirts of the New Forest. Open New Forest areas are less than five miles away with Wootton, near Sway, being the nearest point. There are many beautiful places in the Forest to walk, cycle, picnic and enjoy the wildlife, which includes the famous New Forest ponies and various species of deer.

From the cliff-top at Milford on Sea, just 300 yards from Ha'penny House, there are sweeping views of Christchurch Bay from Hurst Castle and the Isle of Wight to the Purbeck Hills. As part of the Solent Way, there are cliff-top walks to the west, originally known as the "Smugglers Coast" or eastwards along the spit to Hurst Castle - a Tudor fortress built by Henry VIII to guard the western entrance to the Solent and extensively enlarged during Victorian times.

One mile east of Milford on Sea is the hamlet of Keyhaven with its pretty harbour and Keyhaven Marshes - one of the finest bird sanctuaries on the south coast. For 700 years until the early 19th century these marshes, which run all the way to Lymington, were the scene of an important industry - the production of sea salt.

The light and airy, well appointed bedrooms at Ha'penny House are very clean and comfortable with central heating, en-suite bath or shower room, tea/coffee making facilities, colour TV, hairdryer and many little extras.

There is a spacious, sunny dining room and cosy guest lounge with an open fireplace.

A generous, award winning breakfast is offered, starting with juices, fresh fruit, yoghurt and cereals followed by either traditional English Breakfast or alternative options of fish, vegetarian, continental, sweet or "healthy eating" with home baked bread a speciality. Local ingredients are used when available including free-range eggs.

Guests are welcome to enjoy the terraced garden and summer house.

There is plenty of easy parking onsite.

Highlights
  • Ideally positioned for the sea and The New Forest. Far enough away but near enough to Southampton, Bournemouth and Salisbury.
