Old Bank House, which has been awarded 3-diamond rating from English Tourism Council, was built around 1830 and is in a group of three of the largest of the old houses. For a long time it was a branch of the Yorkshire bank.

Situated in the very heart of the village, close to Milton Hall (the old market Hall) the house has marvellous views over the village cricket field and the nearby Elsecar Park - complete with the reservoir which earned the village the name of 'Elsecar by the sea'.

Wooded hills provide attractive walks to the village of Wentworth with its beautiful church, attractive garden centre and, of course, the spectacular Wentworth Woodhouse - the largest frontage of any private house in the UK.

Elsecar railway station allows ready access to Barnsley,Sheffield and Leeds - give us a ring and we'll collect you from the station. The M1 (J36) is less than 3 miles away and there are frequent bus services to Barnsley and Rotherham.
