The Manor Farmhouse is a peaceful and romantic, secluded, Grade II* listed Tudor farmhouse. It was once the home of Anthony Babington whose love for Mary Queen of Scots cost him his head.
We're situated in a tiny hamlet with magnificent views, yet only 15 minutes from the M1 and 2 miles from Matlock.
It makes an ideal base for touring, walking etc, as well as visiting Derbyshire and the Peak District's numerous places of interest and visitor attractions. These include Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Derwent Valley World Heritage Site, Bakewell, Ashbourne, Dovedale etc.
Accommodation features lovely, well furnished rooms with big beds (2 en-suite, one with private bathroom) with tea/coffee trays, TV, hair drier etc and guests' sitting room. Breakfast served in the original Elizabethan kitchen, and all diets are catered for.
There are lovely walks directly from the house. There are also good local pubs and restaurants nearby.
Being of historical importance, The Manor Farmhouse receives many visitors from all over the world. It has also been the setting for many television programmes.
