Watchet is an ancient harbour town with a history that stretches back over a thousand years. A Royal Saxon Mint that was raided by the Vikings is just part of its colourful past. This and many other fascinating historical events are featured in the Harbour-side Museum. More recently, part of the harbour has been transformed and is now an attractive marina and Sea fishing trips are regularly available from Watchet harbour. Furthermore, the West Somerset Railway steam trains call regularly at Watchet on their way to Bishops Lydeard or Minehead.
Further afield, the area offers wonderful opportunities for country and coastal walking. To the west lies the pretty village of Dunster with its Yarn Market and Castle, and approximately 8 miles way is the popular holiday resort of Minehead. The county cricket ground and racecourse are only 17 miles away at Taunton.

From the North and East follow the A39, towards Minehead, to Williton.
From the South follow the A358, towards Minehead, to Williton.
From the West follow the A39, towards Bridgewater, to Williton.
From Williton turn right onto the B3191 towards Watchet. Enter the village of Watchet and turn left onto Harbour Road (signposted towards Blue Anchor) which becomes Swain Street. After approximately 500 metres turn right onto Esplanade Lane and go through the gate onto the harbour front. Esplanade House is situated on the right.
