York House is an elegant, late Victorian residence situated at the edge of Hay-on-Wye with a beautiful, large south-facing garden which enhances the atmosphere of the B&B.
All the rooms are individually decorated and furnished to a high standard in period style and all the bedrooms have easy chairs, colour TV, hospitality trays, hairdryers and alarm clocks together with a selection of books.
The ground-floor lounge is a peaceful room with log burner and a selection of games, an ideal place to make new friends. The dining room is on the gound floor and the bedrooms are on the first and second floors.
At York House we have plenty of private car parking and garaging facilities for bicycles and motorcycles. The centre of Hay with its abundance of eating and drinking facilities is an easy walk of about 5 minutes.
The garden is not 'child proof' and we are a haven of peace and quiet, consequently we consider that the house is unsuitable for children under 7 years of age.
We have a selection of tourist information to help you plan your day whatever the weather and drying facilities in the event of you getting wet. Packed lunches are available on request.
Hay-on-Wye (now twinned with Timbuktu)is a small but dynamic ancient market town situated in the Brecon Beacons National Park.
The maze of narrow, unchanged streets of this formerly walled town, houses a fascinating collection of shops. Print, craft, antique, second-hand and antiquarian book shops nestle amongst small family grocers, butchers and ladies and gents outfitters.
