One of the leading environmentally friendly guest houses in Wales, Bryn Elltyd is located in a magnificent mountain steeing in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park. The house, one mile from the old slate mining town of Blaenau Ffestiniog, was built in 1883. Whilst keeping original features, imaginative extensions and modernisation provide a warm and friendly atmostphere in an ecological and sustainable building where guests can enjoy an inviting and relaxing holiday which has limited impact on the environment.
Our 6 bedrooms are en suite with showers and have fantastic mountain views. Room facilities include, Fairtrade hospitality tray, hair dryer & CD/Radio alarm. Afternoon tea on arrival in one of our comfortable lounges, or in the south facing sun lounge. Relax at the end of the day in the sauna or in our extensive, award winning semi wild garden, with it's many species of birds.
Walk from the house in the Moelwyn mountains, or climb on the craigs. Transport provided for linear routes, free advice and maps available as well as guided walking. Ideal for all outdoor activities.
Snowdon & other 1000 meter peaks a 30 minute drive away.
Ideal base for visiting the many historic castles, beaches, slate mines and many more attractions. Ffestiniog narrow guage railway runs past the rear of the guest house with Tanygrisiau Station 150 meters away.
