Built in 1890, by wealthy textile baron, Alexander Morton, Gowanbank retains its period features while offering quality, contemporary accommodation. Located within Ayrshire's rural countryside, Gowanbank is ideally situated to offer a relaxing retreat for holidaymakers while only 15 minutes from the M74 [25 minutes to Glasgow].

Directions
Travelling from England and The South:
Travelling North on the M74 exit at Junction 8 (signposted Kilmarnock/Larkhill) and follow the A71 to Kilmarnock for 17 miles to the village of Darvel. Gowanbank House is on the hill immediately to your right as you leave the town. Please use the second entrance to the house.
Travelling from Glasgow and The North:
Travelling South from Glasgow and the M8 follow the M77 for Kilmarnock, exiting at the the junction marked Galston. Turn right at the end of the slip road. You are now travelling on the A77. Take the first exit left signposted Galston/Loudon Castle Theme Park. When you have passed the theme park you come to a roundabout. Take the first exit for Edinburgh/Newmilns/A71. You will pass the famous Loudon Golf Club on your left and then enter the village of Newmilns. When you leave Newmilns (300m) Gowanbank House is situated on the hill on your left. Then entrance is immediately after the second slow sign painted on the road.
Travelling from Glasgow Prestwick International Airport:
Glasgow Prestwick International airport is a mere 16.2 miles from Gowanbank House, the journey takes about 20 minutes. Exit Prestwick International airport right onto A79. Head north on A79 and go straight over 1 roundabout. (1.3 miles) At Monktonhead Roundabout take the 3rd exit onto the A78. (0.7 miles) At the first roundabout take the 1st exit onto A77/Kilmarnock Road. Continue to follow A77 for 6.7 miles. Take the Belfield Roundabout exit and on the roundabout take the 4th exit onto the A71/Riccarton Road (to Edinburgh). Travel 7.3 miles through 2 roundabouts until you travel through Newmilns. As you leave Newmilns, Gowanbank House is on the left.
