Bowes House is a family run bed and breakfast set in a large garden of three quarters of an acre with stone barn, orchard, hens, fruit bushes, vegetable patch and flower borders. There are lovely views across the countryside in every direction.
The bedrooms are large and comfortable with white cotton linen and towels and feather duvets and pillows. On arrival you may have tea or coffee and homemade cakes or biscuits if you wish, served in the sitting room or garden. Tea and coffee and herbal teas are available at any time in the family kitchen. We try to only use organic and or locally grown produce, perhaps even from the garden at the right time of year. Breakfast is traditional bacon and eggs with all the trimmings, with the addition of a choice of homemade yoghurt, fruit compote and cereals, fruit juice, toast and homemade preserves.
We try to run as eco-friendly a house as we can recycling, using few if any cleaning products and gardening organically.
Within a half hours drive of the property there is a wealth of local attractions. There is of course excellent walking both in the countryside and along the Dorset coastline, wonderful beaches, the Cricket St Thomas Wildlife park, the National Trust properties of Tintinhull and Montacute, the fabulous Mapperton Gardens, Fleet Air arm museum and Haynes Motor Museum.
There are excellent pubs and restaurants to eat at, Wynyards Gap only 5 minutes away and two fabulous fish restaurants at West Bay. Pickwicks and The Bridge House Hotel in Beaminster.
A good 18 hole golf course is 5 minutes away at Chedington.

Mosterton is situated on the A3066 between Crewkerne and Beaminster. As you enter the village driving South, Eeles pottery is on your left, the track leading to Bowes House is the next left between two stone house and before The Paddocks. Bowes House is 100 metres down the track on the left hand side. Crewkerne mainline station is 5 minutes away with regular trains from Waterloo, we would be happy to collect from the station. We are on a public Bridleway/footpath so are easy to access by foot if you are on a walking holiday.
