Well House is set in the tiny hamlet of Chapel Lawn, within the hidden Redlake Valley in the South Shropshire Hills, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
We are five miles south of Clun, famous for its pubs, music and Green Man festival. Fifteen miles away is Ludlow, well known for its Food Festival, and four miles away is the Welsh border town of Knighton.
If you are walking through Knighton along the Offas Dyke path, we can collect you at the end of the day and return you to the same spot the next morning for a small extra charge.
This is an ideal spot for anyone wanting peace and tranquillity. The walks and views are superb; the pace of life is slow; people are friendly; the pubs and the beer are wonderful. It is the England we all think we remember that never really existed - except here.
Next door to a working farm, our lovely, wisteria-clad, oak-beamed, stone farm-house dates from 1714.
Our beds are comfortable - we can provide double, twin or single accommodation - our breakfasts are large and good and our garden is a delight to laze in.
There is a breakfast room with an open fire on chilly days and a large, elm-panelled parlour with an inglenook fireplace and log burner. If you want TV we have it in the bedrooms, as well as free Wi-fi for broadband. We do not have mobile reception butyou are very welcome to use our phone at no charge for UK landlines.
If too wet to go out, you can stay indoors and read or play scrabble, or just doze on a sofa.
We can advise you on walks of varying lengths and difficulty and we especially welcome walkers and cyclists. We have secure storage for bikes. If you can't bring your bike you can borrow one of ours.
We can collect you from nearby railway stations such as Ludlow, Craven Arms and Bucknell. We cannot make a charge for this as that would invalidate our insurance, but you are welcome to make a small donation to Di's charity, Redeartheducation.co.uk.
Although we only occasionally provide evening meals, we can always arrange for one locally - again, transport is possible. We aren't licensed, but you can bring your own wine and beer.
Our prices are reasonable and if you are part of a larger party, we can also refer your friends to neighbouring B&Bs.

Directions
On a map of Shropshire find Bucknell and Clun which are both west of Ludlow and very close to the Welsh border. Chapel Lawn is a tiny village midway between the two, five miles south of Clun and three miles north of Bucknell. The OS Grid reference is SO 317764 from 50,000:1 Map 137 or from 25,000:1 OS Pathfinder Map Sheet 950.
As you enter Chapel Lawn from the south (Bucknell), Well House is the first house on the left, or it's the last house on the right if you are coming from the north (Clun). The nearest Railway Stations are Bucknell about three miles away, and Knighton - six miles away, both on the Heart of Wales Line. There are also stations at Craven Arms and Ludlow, both about fifteen miles distant (we can collect you for a small extra charge - see Tarrif). For train times contact:
1. Price per person per night: Weekdays - £30.00 per person sharing, £40.00 for sole use of double room.
For Fridays and Saturdays, add £2.50 per person per night.
£10 reduction per child sharing a room with parents.
2. Children sleeping in separate room £25.00 per child (plus £2.50 Friday and Saturday).
Please be advised that the house is not especially suitable for younger children, as there is an unguarded pond in the garden and a fast-flowing stream just outside the garden gate. We don't say No, but it is very much at your own risk.
3. Additional meals:
Packed lunch: £5.00 per person.
Evening meals: Occasionally by negotiation in advance - approx £12.00 to £15.00 per person.
4. Extras:
