From the Airport to Oakwood Guest Hse, West Drayton:
On arrival at Heathrow, please call our West Drayton Taxi company - LHR Cars, on 01895-444333/ 444444 & listen carefully to their precise Meeting Place outside your Terminal. Please give LHR your mobile no - if applicable, or clearly describe to them your Clothing or Luggage; disorientated clients with Jetlag and Taxis can only too easily miss each other at the airport!
The approx fare to West Drayton should be £8.00; if you get into a Black Taxi waiting outside Heathrow, you may have to pay £20.00, because London "Cabbies" are not usually familiar with West Drayton!
Road Instructions from the M4 Motorway and Heathrow:
To find us, take the M4 from the M25 (Junction 15) and leave the motorway very rapidly at Junction 4 (Uxbridge A408/ Heathrow). Stay in left-hand lane and concentrate hard; take the second left at busy traffic light, roundabout complex into Cherry Lane, with left-pointing arrow towards West Drayton, in front of the Crowne Plaza Hotel, and with the Novotel to your left.
Cherry Lane turns into Sipson Road, continue driving & go straight at the 2 small sets of Traffic Lights after parade of shops with "Costcutter" on left, into Station Road - past the "Fox & Pheasant" on the right. After St Martin's Vet on the left, and a Texaco Garage on the right, you will see Oakwood Guest House after the "Six Bells" pub to the right.
We have three compact Parking Spaces available on either side of the front door, on Station Road. Secure, longer-term parking is also available behind the guest house. Turn right just before Chas Cameron Lettings, into Brandville Road; turn right immediately afterwards, into Bellclose Road & then immediately right again, into the mesh gated car park (with green garage doors ahead of you).
Please ring our Front Door Bell as you pass - or call us on 07720-074800, to have the Car Park opened up for you.
Road Instructions from M40/ Uxbridge Direction:
From the M40, take Exit 1 at hectic Denham Roundabout and then the A4020 towards Uxbridge. At 2nd roundabout/ traffic light complex in Uxbridge with modern MANPOWER building in centre, take the A408 towards Heathrow, Cowley & Yiewsley - to right.
Drive through Cowley & continue along A408 a few miles - past Esso/ Tesco Express Garage on left and then various warehouses on right, until you reach the Traffic Lights in Yiewsley, with Iceland and Aldi on right. Continue straight, through Yiewsley, past Woolworths, HSBC Bank, etc. Drive over the Canal bridge, and past West Drayton Station and past a Spar Supermarket on the left-hand corner, then 2 small Indian restaurants on your left. Drive past Brandville Road and the Guest House is on your left - after the silver-grey shutters, and just before the 'Six Bells' pub, and the black Texaco Garage.
There are 3 compact parking spaces in front of the guest house - on both sides of the front door, or there is secure locked Parking available behind the Guest House. Turn left just after Charles Cameron Lettings, into Brandville Road; turn right immediately into Bellclose Road and then immediately right again through the (possibly locked) mesh into the parking area (with
Green garage doors ahead of you) behind the guest house. Please ring the Front Door Bell as you pass - or call us on 07720-074800, to have the Car Park opened up for you.
To travel to Oakwood by Train:
Catch a Thames Train, towards Reading, Oxford or Slough, normally from Platform 13 or 14, on far right-hand side of Paddington Station - 4 trains per hour mid-week, journey time 25 mins. Please check the platform screens carefully before boarding your train in London!
Turn left out West Drayton Station Entrance, and left again under the railway bridge; walk a few hundred yards - past a Spar Supermarket on the left-hand corner, then past 2 small Indian restaurants on your left. Cross straight over Brandville Road and the Guest House is on your left - after the silver-grey shutters, and just before the 'Six Bells' pub.
When leaving West Drayton Station via the Back exit: walk straight ahead into Warwick Road for a short way and then bear right toward the "Gentlemen's Barber" shop. Turn left at the corner into Station Road by "Flowers by Ellisa" - opposite red Threshers shop, and you will then soon come to the Spar Supermarket, etc. - as above
London (South Kensington, Piccadilly Circus and Euston/ Kings Cross Stations) are also, alternatively, accessible by the Blue, Piccadilly Line underground to Heathrow airport; then, customers can travel by Taxi, or the U3 Bus, to us here in West Drayton.
To Oakwood Guest House by bus from Heathrow:
Take the U3 Bus from Stand 18 at Heathrow Central Bus Station, and pay the driver £2.00p fare, or show him an Oyster Card. (Unfortunately some bus drivers do not speak fluent English!). 5 buses every hour [one every 12 mins] normally, and this service runs until late at night, from the early hours of the morning.
Get off the U3 near the end of Swan Road, West Drayton. Walk down Swan Road to the T Junction - with a Spar Supermarket to your left. Cross over & turn right into Station Road - towards Harmondsworth and Sipson. Walk past Harrolds, Opticians, then past 2 small Indian restaurants. Cross straight over Brandville Road and we are on your left - beyond silver-grey shutters, just before the 'Six Bells' Pub.
