Country Cottage B and B is set in the beautiful vale of Blackmore in Dorset.
This is a 300 year old thatched cottage with low beamed ceilings, exposed bread oven and all the charms that you would expect, are here; located just 200yds from the famous Fiddleford Inn, where good food, good beers and fine wines are served.
We have top class course fishing on the river Stour, which is only ¼ of a mile away. The cottage is overlooked by a 200 acre wood, for people who enjoy a long walk in the woods and there are miles of foot paths around us.
Sturminster Newton is our local town and is only 1 mile away; it has a thousand year old water mill that is still working and the town itself carrys a Royal Charter for its market.
It is an hour's drive from the famous Durrasic coast of Dorset at Lyme, also from the New Forest, Bournemouth, Poole and Salisbury.
To the rear of the cottage, can be seen Hambledon Hill and Hod Hill, which are both Neolithic Forts, with reputedly the oldest Yew wood in England.
Shaftesbury known for its famous cobbled Gold Hill of the Hovis bread advert, is a twenty minute drive away .
We are eight miles from the main line station at Gillingham and offer a pick up and drop back service.
