Millfields House is a comfortable family home with a lovely garden, quietly situated, just five minutes walk from the historic market town of Cranbrook.
From the house there are far reaching views over the town, its famous smock mill, the church of St Dunstans and playing fields.
The house has two well-appointed bedrooms (one twin room with en-suite shower and one king-size double with private bathroom).
Weather permitting, tea is served to guests in the garden on their arrival, either on the terrace beneath the Medlar tree or by the pond.
Each day a delicious breakfast is served in the dining room overlooking the garden, using locally sourced produce, home-made toasted bread, jams, marmalade and local honey.
Millfields is a great place to stay, for visitors wanting to explore the beautiful countryside of the Garden of England; the area is renowned for its glorious gardens including Sissinghurst, Great Dixter and Pashley Manor, castles such as Bodiam, Leeds and Hever and historic houses for example Knole, Ightham Mote, Batemans (the home of Rudyard Kipling), Churchills beloved Chartwell and Penshurst Place.
Within an hours drive are the dramatic chalk cliffs of the Seven Sisters, Beachy Head and the White Cliffs of Dover. From impressive cathedrals to steam railways, vineyards and charming medieval towns and villages, there is plenty to see and do.
Cranbrook has a fine church, an interesting museum, antique and clothes shops, as well as a good choice of places to eat out, including tea rooms, coffee shops, a fine Michelin starred restaurant and a brasserie and wine bar, all within walking distance.
