Hooke Farm is a relaxed yet sophisticated family run luxury Bed and Breakfast in the heart of West Dorset.
The House was completely renovated seven years ago and is now furnished in a blend of contemporary and traditional styles.
The Farm sits just above the village, up the lane from Hooke Springs Trout Farm.
The first person to greet you is Wiggy the Piggy as she and her pet pheasants - yes she has two - snuffle around the old mill pond on the lookout for truffles.
If she ever finds any they will be grated over scrambled eggs for breakfast.
Wiggy and the various lurchers make very good doorbells and will let your hosts know you have arrived.
Lucy is an an artist whilst her husband is one of around 150 Scottish Clan Chiefs (though on permanent secondment to Dorset!)
You will be welcomed with a cup of tea or coffee in the drawing room or perhaps a glass of wine before dinner, leaving you with plenty of books to read as you relax and soak up the atmosphere of this home and the intoxicating Dorset air.
Hooke Farm offers light and airy, yet warm and cosy double bedrooms.
The rooms have en-suite bathrooms, tea and coffee making facilities and television.
Bathrooms have all the bits and pieces you'd expect from a high standard Bed & Breakfast like large bath towels, environmentally friendly toiletries and bathrobes.
Guests are welcome to use the drawing room with log fire surrounded by family portraits and big cream sofas.
Or, if feeling energetic, perhaps you'd like a game of tennis after tea?
We don't think you will find a better bed and breakfast in Dorset.
Dorset was once among Britain's best kept secrets but is becoming increasingly well known for its excellent food, farmers' markets and specialist shops.
Celebrity chefs such as Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall and Lesley Walters have homes and businesses close by.
Mat Follas, winner of Materchef 2009 has opened up the celebrated Wild Garlic Resturant in nearby Beaminster and Mark Hix of the Ivy in London has a restaurant in Lyme Regis.
The local pubs and restaurants cover the whole range of style and prices from the Relais et Chateaux restaurant at Summer Lodge in Evershot to the trendy beach café, The Hive at Burton Bradstock.
Some of the first class pubs include The Fox Inn at Corscombe, The Acorn Inn at Evershot, The Saxon Arms in Stratton, The Greyhound at Sydling St. Nicholas and The Brace of Pheasants in Plush.
West Bay's Riverside Restaurant is a must for seafood, or alternatively you might like to try the West Bay Hotel or the Bull Hotel in Bridport.
We also provide a top class three course dinner by arrangement for £25 per head to include half a bottle of wine.
