Your holiday location in the geologically unique, Trotternish Peninsula of Skye.

Bayside is set along the shores of a bird sanctuary, where sea eagles can be seen, even sometimes settling on the roof to scour the freshly mown fields around our home for dinner!

You can hear many rare bird calls, including the protected corncrake.

Herons catch fish at the shoreline, as flocks of rare geese fly overhead.

Otters and seals may be spotted and sometimes even dolphins in the surrounding Trotternish Peninsula.

Just a few miles further north, at the beautiful sandy beach of Staffin Bay, you'll be amazed at the variety of rare wildlife and equally rare plant life that abounds.

However as if that's not enough, each night, right outside your bedroom, you can take a romantic stroll along the shore through to the Uig wood.

There you can listen to the owls and the sea as you are led down and out onto the vista of Uig bay.

There are often the most breathtaking sunsets!

During the daytime a short walk away, you can find the secret Fairy Glen with its waterfall.

Discover the Captains Folly, perched on a hill that watches over our home and the rare 17th century Blackhouse dating back to the clearances that sits in our grounds.

We have created a home from home feel to Bayside and do everything we can to personalise your stay to make you feel at ease.

Your breakfast is taken as you gaze across the panoramic, uninterrupted 360 degrees scenery that surrounds our home.

Every view from every window is a picture in its own right.

At Bayside you don't look at the view, you simply are in the view!

We have an established third of an acre garden that melts into the infinity of the stunning sea and hill views.

Half a mile away there are two cafes, petrol filling station, artisan pottery, Skye brewery, two inns, restaurant, [food highly recommended], post office with some banking facilities and a cash machine, two grocery stores and gift shop.

Portree the bustling capital of Skye is about a 20 minute drive.

The rooms are tastefully decorated in light and airy tones, mixing olde world charm with modern design.

All feature some Laura Ashley furniture, lamps, fabrics, curtains cushions and wallpaper.

We have a large bed sitting room with stunning sea views and a new England feel, with traditional Scottish painted closeboarded walls and ceilings and an en-suite shower room.

Bedroom 2/3,[much larger than the picture shows]with very large en-suite bathroom or own private bathroom is most tranquil.

It has stunning sea views and receives the evening sun allowing you to unwind watching the glorious sunsets unfold.

Each room has a digital TV/freeview/DVD player.

A film can be selected from our library.

You may connect to broadband wi fi in all bedrooms.

There is a fresh fruit bowl, sweets and biscuits/tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryer and fluffy bathrobes.

As professionally trained artists and teachers we have our own studio.

We have art and crafts and artisan jewellery, and a studio gallery .

There are only ever two rooms available at any one time.

Directions
To reach Skye one often drives across on the A87,(which is the only road to the isles) from Inverness to the Skye Bridge, where it is necessary to drive north still on the A87 to the capital of Skye, Portree.
On the A87,head through Portree and north towards the village of Uig, continuing throughout on the A87.
We are a tiny hamlet, immediately before the village of Uig itself, called Cuil.
There is only one signpost on the way indicating Cuil to watch for.
We are number 2 South Cuil, though houses around here are not numbered.[however we are easily identified by the fact we are NOT a white house]
It is easy to miss our turning if you drive quickly, as it is well screened from the road but easy to spot if you slow down.
As you drop down the very very steep slope approaching the village of Uig, watch out on the right hand side of the road for a large white modern sign, marked Bayside studio gallery.
It is just past the nearest landmark, which is the large Uig hotel, visible as you drop down the hill on the right side of the road.
Turn left at that sign which leads you down to the seashore alongside a river and down a beautiful lane .
There are a few properties before us, so look for the further three white signs marked Bayside gallery that will lead you to us.
We are about half a mile along said lane.
It is a very easy tarmac lane to drive along not particularly narrow, and not remote in any way.
We do have a portable sign a bit earlier along the A87 on the left hand side of the road, before dropping down into Uig that you could also watch for, but this is not left out at night.

n.b Uig is the departure point to sail to the Outer Hebrides and so we are very well placed for you to island hop from our location.
