Gate Cottage sits at the foot of the Malvern Hills, just below British Camp.

A footpath runs by our front gate and leads over the common land to the Hills.

You can walk for hours across country, only occasionally encountering a road, most of which are quiet country lanes.

It is the immediate access to open country, coupled with tranquillity that first attracted us to this place.

There are several pubs within walking distance and others only a short drive away, all of which provide good meals, real ales and cider.

Gate Cottage is within easy reach of the Three Counties Showground and the Malvern Theatres.

Upton upon Severn, well known for its music and river festivals, is about a ten minute drive away, as is Eastnor Castle, which holds a range of family activities throughout the year, as well as hosting the Big Chill each summer.

Landrover Experience is based nearby and the off road driving course runs through the Eastnor Estate, making use of part of the Malvern Hills.

The historic towns of Ledbury and Tewkesbury are also within easy reach.

Gate Cottage offers two double bedrooms, one en-suite and the other with a dedicated bathroom, just along the landing.

The sitting room has a large wood burner, ideal for toasting your toes after a day spent walking on the Hills!

Breakfast is cooked on the Aga in the large farmhouse kitchen, using locally sourced and organic produce whenever possible.

We offer the '˜Full English' breakfast, of course, but also try to provide an interesting range of alternative breakfasts, for example, smoked salmon and scrambled egg on cream cheese and bagels, fresh fruit salad and Greek yoghurt, or fresh baked croissants or pain au chocolat.

We are happy to cater for all dietary requirements, as long as we are given a little prior notice. We always stock soya and oat milk and dairy free spreads.

Our own hens usually supply the eggs for your breakfast and the bacon and sausages are local and organic (Gloucester Old Spot or Tamworth pigs).

As well as having our own hens, we also share Gate Cottage with our two friendly dogs, Bluey and Tara, and two Arab horses and a foal.

  • Wonderful, tranquil location, especially for walkers, bird watchers, etc, yet within easy reach of major transport links.
  • Locally sourced organic foods when possible, home made preserves, fresh organic eggs from our free range hens.
