By Road: From the North or South: Take the M6. Come off at Junction 36 and take the A590 towards the South Lakes for 3 - 4 miles. Then take the A591 towards Windermere and travel for around 10 miles. Turn left into the village when you see the National Westminster Bank. Follow the one way system through the village - past the shops. At the end of the one way system, turn left into Broad Street. The White Rose is at the far end on the left. By Train: (Please note: There is a direct rail link from Manchester Airport to Windermere) The nearest main line station is Oxenholme - on the West Coast main line. Trains from Glasgow and from London all come through Oxenholme. There is a branch train that links Oxenholme with Windermere. From Windermere Railway Station and the bus terminus: Turn left from the station and walk down into Windermere village. Walk through the one way system. As the road opens into two way traffic, Broad Street is the road on your left. The White Rose is at the far end on the left. |
