Ferintosh offers Bed and Breakfast accommodation in Dumfries. The Guest House is a very attractive picturesque red sandstone Victorian building sitting in its own landscaped gardens and resting peacefully in a quiet residential part of the historic and beautiful town of Dumfries, Scotland. Ferintosh is opposite Dumfries Railway Station and a 5 minute walk from the town centre. There is ample parking nearby.

You get much more for your money at Ferintosh Guest House; we offer an outstanding breakfast selection. An iron and ironing board are available, as are Scottish Ales and French Wines.

Ferintosh Guest House has 6 bedrooms with a mix of Twins and Doubles - some with ensuite and some with private facilities and for the comfort of our guests, we provide luxurious robes in the three rooms that are not ensuite.


Ferintosh promotes Dumfries and its historical ties to Robert Burns. We continue our tradition of hosting an Annual Burns Supper complete with piper, lavish spread of Scottish foods, and a whisky tasting contest.

In the guest house, you will find a wide variety of magazines, books and guides to the area including information on Dumfries, Robert Burns, local Burnsian history, walking, cycling, fishing, and golf. Walkers and cyclists are most welcome and we have facilities for their needs. As are fisherman and golfers.

Ferintosh is the ideal location, close to all wedding and function venues in the Dumfries area.

We are proud to be LGBT friendly, kilt friendly, and dog friendly.

For the comfort of our guests we no longer accommodate children under the age of 10.

Pet Facilities: Pets are allowed. Ferintosh welcomes guests to bring their well-behaved canine traveling companions along with them
A complimentary biscuit and chewy strip awaits your dog in your room.
Dogs are allowed to stay in the rooms with the guests, but must NOT be left unattended in the room, unless special arrangements are made with Robertson & Emma.
Unfortunately we cannot allow dogs in the dining room, but your dog can play in our enclosed rear garden, with our dogs, while you enjoy breakfast.... or, if the weather permits, you can eat your breakfast in the rear garden with your dog... or your dog can a have a wee rest in your car while you have breakfast.

Water bowls, food bowls, and poop bags are available for your use.
We also have spare leads and umbrellas should you need to borrow them.
There is a great tree lined place to walk dogs right across the road from the Guest House and hundreds of great walks in the surrounding area (river walks, hill treks, you name it)

Dumfries has several dog friendly pubs; The Globe Inn, Tam O' Shanter, Hole I' The Wa' Inn, Fleshers Arms, The Last Post, New Bazaar, Waverly Bar, The Lyver, Douglas Arms, and Coach & Horses.
Dumfries also has some pub/restaurants allow you to have your dog with you on the patio whilst you eat; The Globe Inn (lunch only), The Swan, Station Hotel, at the Coach & Horses you can eat your lunch IN the pub with your dog (lunch only)... and at the Waverly Pub you can eat your lunch or supper IN the pub with your dog.

We have never had a dog steal towels, cutlery, or pictures off the walls. We have never had to evict a dog in the middle of the night for being drunk and disorderly. No dog has ever smoked in our rooms and no dog has ever run out on their bill... if your dog will vouch for you, you're welcome to stay here too.

From England M6 North:
Take A74(M) North at Carlisle
Take A709 West to Dumfries, at Lockerbie
Go straight over roundabout where A709 meets A75 (stay on A709 / Lockerbie Road)
Straight on over next 3 roundabouts (stay on A709 / Lockerbie Road / St Mary's Street)
Turn right at first set of traffic lights onto Lovers Walk
