Julie and Alistair offer you a warm welcome to this beautiful detached villa, with its inspirational half an acre of grounds, hens, ducks and beautiful views.

We have a lovely en-suited Double Bedroom with Views of the rolling hills.

We have a small gallery of original local art work done by resident artist Julie H. Winter; we turn the breakfast room into an art studio from around 10.30am until 4pm.

Evening meals are optional at £15.00 for three courses.

Art tuition is available and encompasses all age groups and abilities.

Each of the beautiful bedrooms have stunning views of woodland and rolling hills, they are dressed with original paintings.

New Cumnock is an old mining town.

The local Spar has been updated and now includes an area for freshly made sandwiches and pastries.

The butcher and baker provide excellent food too.

There are a couple of take away food outlets.

The newly refurbished Bridged Bar creates a trendy place to socialise. Glen's Bar has a warm welcome too.

A local taxi is available to take people to Cumnock, which is a larger town with a livelier nightlife.

For fun and exercise, you can visit the open air heated swimming pool, which has a games hall within the complex.

There's an enclosed football pitch for all to use at the end of Afton Road, where all the family can walk by Afton Water taking in the scenery.

The area has a variety of birds including Buzzards,Tits,Chaffinches,Greater spotted Woodpeckers, Nuthatches and Treecreepers. New for 2011 We are hoping to introduce Bird boxes with c.c.t.v. for the enthusiast. There are many walks and nature trails for ramblers plus a wildlife sanctuary.

You can play a round of golf in a beautiful idyllic setting of three lochs, which is just at the edge of New Cumnock.

At the Key Store you can purchase a fishing permit for Afton Reservoir; Trout fishing is available opposite the golf course.

One mile away from The Doctor's House there's the Burn's Cairn, which is a beautiful well tended monument to Robert Burns; this heads a path, which leads down to a picnic area by Afton Water.
A three mile walk will lead you to Afton Reservoir.

Cumnock has it's own museum, The Baird, Mauchline houses a museum telling the story of Robert Burns - The early years. Dumfries House is a couple of miles away and is a fantastic stately home that has had sponsorship from Prince Charles. There are some beautiful castles in the area and one of them is a theme park too.

The seaside town of Ayr, famous for its golf courses, is twenty miles away. Local bus service and rail networks, allow people to travel from central New Cumnock, which sits just inside Ayrshire making it well placed to take advantage of all that Dumfries and Galloway have to offer, such as The Galloway Forest Park.

It takes one hour by train to Glasgow, where you can visit art galleries to complement your stay at Afton Water View.

You will approach a small roundabout just past the butcher's shop, where you make a left turn, then immediately follow the sign to the cemetery, which is a sharp left.
You will pass a row of houses on Afton Road - follow this road for about three miles.
You will see a sign for Glen Afton Park. Take the upper fork in the road and The Doctor's House is the first house on your left.
When you arrive in New Cumnock from the North:
You will approach a small roundabout with a large school on your left, where you make a right turn.
Then immediately follow the sign to the cemetery, which is a sharp left.
Follow this road for about three miles. You will see a sign for Glen Afton Park. Take the upper fork in the road and The Doctor's House is the first house on your left.
